It was a friendly game of Black Jack. It really was…or at least it started as one. Somewhere halfway through, Tidus found himself face flat on the floor with a whining Rikku jumping in place not too far off.

“You cheated you big meanie!” She screeched on the top of her lungs. Tidus winced from his position on the floor and tried as hard as he could to refrain himself from covering his ears. If humans could make ultra violet noises…he was pretty sure that was what it would sound like. Actually, he was rather certain that the bats in the cave at Besaid Island (that he heard so much about) could probably hear the obnoxious blonde.

“You cheated.” Rikku repeated again, waving her arms around for emphasis. “You cheated, you cheated, you cheated, you cheated …” she chanted as Tidus slowly got up to his feet and made a show of dusting himself off while Rikku skipped in a circle around him, continuing the chant.

“Rikku I didn’t cheat!” The blonde raised his voice to get the attention of the hyper, green-eyed female.

“Oh really?” she asked, giving him a suspicious look. “Then how come were the past 10 games in your favor?” Tidus smirked.

“Because of my mad skills?...” He said in an arrogant tone of voice with a quirk to his eyebrow. Rikku stood frozen in front of him for a few seconds. Did she hear him right? Oh yes she did. With a high-pitched battle cry, not giving Tidus any chance to react, Rikku launched herself at the flabbergasted blond. There was just one small problem from her perspective that she didn’t exactly consider when launching herself at the unsuspecting Tidus. They were at the beach. They set up a small table really close to the water, in fact. You can probably tell where this is going…yes with a loud splash and hoards of profanities from both Tidus and Rikku they fell into the water.

Since Rikku was a bit preoccupied with the fact that she was about to get wet (she was obviously not planning on such a turn in events) Tidus managed to twist the duo around and when they actually landed…well…it was Tidus on top, not the other way around.

“You are fat!” she screamed at Tidus and she struggled to get him off. The blond man scowled playfully and stayed put rather blatantly.

“I am not fat.” He said arrogantly lifting one of his hands up to show her the bicep. “S’all muscle.” Rikku rolled her eyes at the pathetic display of cockiness. She opened her mouth to object, but was cut off by a call that came from the forest close by…that disturbingly enough sounded like Yuna. Come to think of it…it was Yuna. Rikku smirked at the new realization. Didn’t Tidus say something about the high summoner not liking him playing cards? Tidus’ eyes widened when he understood what the petit figure beneath him was thinking.

“You wouldn’t.” he said quietly. If only he could keep her quite for two more minutes…Yuna wouldn’t think to look that close to the beach. Rikku gave him a somewhat evil grin before inhaling deeply and…she was stopped.

Her green eyes widened marginally as she held her breath. Maybe she was sleeping? Yeah, yeah that was it. She was sleeping. Then why did those lips on hers did not dematerialize even after she closed her eyes and reopened them again. Oh no…this was real. Tidus was, in fact, kissing her. And it did, in fact, feel really good!

It was over much too soon for her liking and as she opened her eyes the familiar smiling face of Tidus drifted into view…albeit his cheeks were a bright red color.

“Well…it was nice playing with you.” He jumped off the hazed girl and helped her up with him. “I am certainly looking forward to another such experience…” a nervous cough and a sheepish grin. He picked up the deck that was laid out neatly on their make shift table. Rikku was still regarding him hazily without moving a muscle. He walked slowly and calmly (a little to calmly) towards that path that led to the forest. Before he entered the said path, however, he turned around and scratched his head nervously.

“Oh and I might have been cheating just a little bit.” He mumbled loud enough for Rikku to hear and took off into the forest. Out of everything, THAT registered. As Tidus was running through the forest he could already hear footsteps following behind him with a loud shriek of “YOU ARE SOO DEAD!”
